愛爾蘭的距離

愛爾蘭對我來說原本是八竿子打不著的地方,
卻因為John的關係,讓我和愛爾蘭的距離拉近許多!

我與來自愛爾蘭的John算是真正的忘年之交,
也幸虧有了他的幫助,後來我才能順利拿到學位...





那年是我從大一升上大二的時候,
由於自己的疏忽,導致學生簽證出了問題而不自知~
當校方告知無法承認我的學籍,而且也無法讓我留在學校就讀時,
我的心情真是down到地獄...
想起過去一年來的辛苦努力可能付諸流水,
當時的我實在是非常的無助與害怕!

就在那時候,我的朋友John給了我有始以來最大的幫助~
在我"失學"的這段期間,他為了幫我取得學生簽証,
拋下自己的正事,陪我跑了十多趟移民局..
還不辭辛勞的到處打聽有關留學簽證的種種事宜,試圖解決我的問題!

為了去除我的擔心和疑慮,他一再的幫我打氣,
並實地演練如何回答移民官員可能問我的種種問題..
後來甚至為了怕我缺課太多,趕不上進度,
所有移民局相關的事務,他全扛下幫我處理..
也由於John的鼎力幫助,讓我重新取得簽證,順利就讀直到畢業~

我真的真的好感激這位長者朋友...
雖然他老愛跟大家介紹我是他的孫女,
害的所有人都用詫異的眼光看我們,
但是他的幽默感及愛護我的心意,我都了然於心..

真的很開心認識John,也謝謝他給我的幫助!(我的弟弟也多虧他的幫忙,才得以進入很好的中學就讀)
雖然回到台灣之後,忙錄的生活與距離,漸漸的使我們失去了連絡,
但是,我不曾忘記這位我生命中的貴人,我的愛爾蘭爺爺~
每當我聽到The Pougues的音樂就會想起他,
所以我想送這首歌給John,
