Jamie Hewlett 當初就是想創造出一組個性可愛卻帶點邪惡的角色..

另外,他也想打破一些漫畫卡通的成規~
例如 這些劇中的人物所擁有的奇特個性!
好玩的是,主角們也會隨著大家漸漸長大,進而連個性都會有所改變..




再搭配 Damon Albarn 源源不絕的音樂創作,
他們成功的結合了平面設計與音樂創意,
也讓自己晉身為視覺藝術家的多重身份!


在設計與藝術的世界裡,
Jamie Hewlett 和 Damon Albarn 對於自己創造出來的Gorillaz有著很深的期許~






他們在與媒體的訪談裏曾說過:

"Gorillaz背後的文化與創意意涵其實比表象來的更重要,
音樂透過虛擬人物呈現,其實可以表現的更為多元以及多重的文化性。"

Gorillaz音樂的背後,除了Damon是最重要的靈魂人物之外,
也有幾次找了六十多歲的老爹一起配唱!

"重要的不是你是誰,而是你替這個世界貢獻了什麼?

跨文化 跨領域的合作,就是做音樂最大的快樂,
當然,對視覺設計來說,也是同樣的令人欣喜。"
